FAQs

What should I do to prepare for my wax appointment?

Prep with basic cleansing and wear loose fitting clothes that are easy to remove and put back on. Beyond this, if you find your bikini a bit unweildy, trimming is an option (with scissors only). Please leave at least 1/4” of an inch of hair behind (about the size of a grain of rice). While there is a chance that all hair will not be removed during your wax appointment, if you decide to trim, there will be a better chance of having a much smoother wax than if you shave. Our waxers have experience with all bush density, so no need to feel compelled to trim.

Can I bikini wax during my period?

Maybe so. It really first depends on your personal comfort level. Barring this, there are a few things to consider before your visit: 1.) As the body is highly sensitive during this time, try and plan your wax on the day of limited to no flow and when you feel less sensitive; and 2.) Always, prep with a clean tampon before your service and if you are taking motrin or advil, please take it 1-2 hours before your visit.

Help! I have an ingrown.

Oh non. We know and we’ve been there. The good news: you are on the right track by discovering a salon that uses gentle strip-free professional wax that won’t clog your pores and that will actually help exfoliate your skin even after your first treatment. Now for the exciting part. Our “Game Changer” brazilian can get you on the right track to wax, cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate the skin. These are the essentials to keeping your skin bump free. Post-treatment, we recommend using a good ingrown hair serum routinely along with your regular wax treatments and maintaining an at-home exfoliation routine.

I’m currently taking acne medication. Is this okay?

Sadly no. Waxing is never done on clients taking Accutane (you must be off this medication for 1 year before waxing) and is not recommended for clients taking Retin A, Renova, Differin or other types of skin thinning acne medications.

What should I do post-wax?

Products are available that can be applied topically to avoid in-grown hairs and condition the skin for better waxing results. We carry a variety of them. Ask anyone of our staff to assist you with a selection best for your skin type.

Yikes! It’s been a while since my last bikini wax. Any tips before I book?

No worries. Our waxers have experience with all bush density, so no need to feel compelled to trim or shave. It’s also probably better that you don’t do either to ensure you have the smoothest bikini after your treatment. If you have recently trimmed or shaved please ensure the hair has grown at least 1/4” thick before scheduling your next wax treatment.

Can I get waxed if I am pregnant?

Certainly. Unless otherwise advised by your doctor, we encourage our expecting clients to book our waxing services. At le point, our wax bed can be elevated or lowered remotely for easy and strainless accessibility. We also provide a maternity cushion during our service to ensure our expecting clients feel supported and comfortable during the waxing procedure. However, if you are in the last trimester of your pregnancy we do recommend that you limit your waxing to certain areas to avoid discomfort.

Can I go to a tanning booth before or after my wax?

Definitely not. You should avoid heat following a wax treatment and tanning beds/booths take heat to the extreme. Also, the chemicals in tanning lotions will inflame the skin after waxing. Leave 2 to 3 days between waxing and tanning.

How does waxing affect different types of skin?

As dead skin cells are removed in the waxing process the skin will feel quite smooth afterwards. The waxing action may cause the skin some discomfort, but many find our signature post aloe and tea tree serum soothing to the skin and helpful afterwards. In some instances (this is dependent on the skin’s sensitivity level), redness will occur after a treatment. If this occurs, it usually goes away in a few hours. After your skin becomes use to the waxing process any reactions that you experience become almost nonexistent.
